Companies 222, 224, 285, and 225 were alerted for a commercial fire alarm activated at the Green Oaks Country Club. 222 Assistant 2 on scene returned 225 back in service and held units on scene for investigation.
Companies 227, 225, and 222 were alerted for a possible residential structure fire at 114 Castle Drive. County Dispatch reporting homeowner has lights flickering and a smellof electrical burning. 227 Assistant arrived on scene and reported an electrical condition,requested electric company to the scene, and held the assignment with 227 Engine. All other units returned in service.
Stations 225, 221, and 227 were alerted around 6:45am for a possible residential structure fire at 114 Conestoga Road. County Dispatch reporting that the resident could smell smoke, but no smoke or fire seen. 225 Engine arrived first on scene with 225 Chief establishing command. After initial investigation, command requesting all incoming units return in service. No problem found.
Stations 227 and 225 were alerted early this evening for wires down in the 700 block of Rodi Road. Dispatch reported a truck brought wires down and possible damaged the pole. 227 Rescue responded and held 225 units in station. 227 Command requested electric company be notified and respond to the scene. 225 was returned in service while 227 Rescue remained on scene until Duquesne Light arrived on scene.
Stations 227 and 225 were alerted for a dumpster fire outside of Bally's Total Fitness Center on Rodi Road. An officer from station 223 was on scene and reported fire being held with a garden hose until a fire truck arrives. 227 command held 225 units in station. Fire was quickly extinguished and all units returned in service.
Comapanies were called for a reported Residential Structure Fire caller reported smoke was seen. 225 Chief arrived Finding a Mulch Fire and was quickly exstinuished. and Units were cancelled.
225 and 221 were alerted for a reported Possible Electrical Condition, caller reported the emergency light was buzzing and flashing on the third floor. 225 Crew investigated and found light smoke coming from the light and crews removed and isolated the Power. Fire Marshall was notified.
Stations 225 and 221 were alerted early this morning for a smoke odor investigation in the area of 222 Conestoga Road. Crews from 221 Squad and 225 Engine arrived in the area and reported a notable odor of smoke, but were unable to locate the source. It was believed to possibly have been from a structure fire in the City of Pittsburgh. All fire units returned in service.
Station 225 was alerted around 2:30pm for an assist with a possible residential structure fire at 2294 Forrest Drive in Churchill. 122 Assistant arrived on scene and cancelled all units before 225 left station. No fire services needed.
Stations 225, 227, and 222 were alerted this afternoon for gasoline dumped inside of a residence at 439 Elias Drive as a result of a domestic dispute. 227 Engine arrived on scene first with 227 Captain establishing command. 227 Rescue, 222 Engine and 225 Engine all arrived shortly after. A strong odor of gasoline was noticable outside of the residence. No one was home so crews made entry through an unlocked window. After investigation, it was determined that the gasoline was dumpedon a pile of clothes in the living room on the first floor only. The clothes were removed to the outside and the residence was ventilated. Power was terminated to both residences in the duplex as a precaution and the scene was turned over to Penn Hills Police for criminal investigation. All fire units returned in service.
Station 225 was alerted around 9:40am to stand by at Churchill VFD Station 122. Churchill was out on a working structure fire in Chalfant Boro and requested the stand by. 225 Engine and Service were both moved to Station 122. The stand by detail was over around 12:20pm and all 225 units returned in service.
Companies were alerted for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of the Giant Eagle at 9001 Frankstown Road. Before any fire units left station, County Dispatch advised the EMS was on scene and disregarding all fire units. No fire services needed.
Stations 225 and 221 were alerted for an audible alarm activated in the basement of a residence at 704 Beulah Road. County Dispatch advising that the homeowner was unaware of what the alarm was. 221 Squad arrived on scene and reported nothing showing from the exterior. Upon investigation, a faulty carbon monoxide detector was found to be the problem. Homeowner was advised to replace the detector and all units returned in service.
Stations 221 and 225 were alerted for a bag of leaves on fire on Aber Road near Mt Carmel Road. 225 Engine arrived on scene with 225 Captain establishing command and giving the correct location as 7900 block of Aber Road and reporting this to be a pile of trash on fire. Command holding 225 Engine for fire suppression and holding all other units in station. Fire was quickly extinguished and all units returned in service.
Companies 227, 225 and 226 were alerted around 1:00pm for a vehicle fire threatening a structure near 650 Rodi Road. 227 Engine arrived first on scene reporting location to be at Allegheny Customs. Crews from 227 Engine made initial attack. 227 Command reporting fire knocked down, holding the assignment with 227 Engine only, returned all incoming units in service.
